Blue Bird Day On Snowdon

Out with Stephen yesterday for a day of winter climbing. Although the snow cover is very thin it was forecast to be very cold so I was confident of finding some ice and frozen turf. It was also forecast to be a sunny day - and it certainly was!

We decided to head for Snowdon and have a look at Central Trinity, a grade 2 gully that leads up to the summit. The very lean conditions gave us an exciting icy mixed climb - a good bit harder than the grade 2 it normally is.

We climbed it in about 4 pitches with Stephen leading the pitch over the top. Our reward was some fantastic views and even a brocken spectre. A great day to be out.
